Kayleigh is from Manchester, a freelance professional dancer who takes enjoyment from working with different artists. It was at the age of 14 she got introduced to dance, and it wasn’t until she was in higher education that she got diagnosed with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia and Visual stress.
She graduated at The Northern school of contemporary dance in 2013,
where she felt at home dancing everyday, and no one treated her differently. Kayleigh then went onto Verve 14 working with Lea Anderson, Johnathan Goddard & Gemma Nixon, Ben Duke and Jamaal Burkmar. Her professional career has involved working with ACE Dance and Music, Rachel Clarke Dance company, Wayward Thread, Eleesha Drennan, Rationale Productions, Company Nil, Rees Dance, Nathan Johnston Dance, and many more. She has also been a guest lecturer at Leeds Beckett University and The Northern School of Contemporary dance.
Kayleigh is also a choreographer and has created ‘The Left one out’, a solo, and ‘TWO’, a duet in collaboration with Daniel Phung.
Kayleigh joins FRONTLINEdance as a lead performer for it’s Birmingham Dance Hub commission. She is most looking forward to working with new bodies and minds and collaborating with new artists and communities that she hasn’t worked with before.
Apart from dancing she likes to paint and draw. She is one of six children and has nine nephews and three nieces.
