I have been a member of FRONTLINEdance for over 4 years. I was in the final year of my dance degree at MMU wanting to gain some experience in dance and disability, when I discovered Breakthrou’dance. My time there was only supposed to be short term but I enjoyed it that much that I stayed and also applied to be a member of FRONTLINEdance’s board.
I love Breakthrou dance because every person that attends is so individual and fabulous at what they do – working brilliantly together. The atmosphere when we perform is incredible!
I chair the ‘friends of’ initiative which helps to raise funds for the company. So far, we have organised various events including Christmas and Summer parties, sponsor events, car boots and clothes sales. We also run a pennies collection which allows the participants of Breakthrou dance and their families to collect any loose change for the company in small plastic tubs that we hand out in class.
